About the Dutch Knowledge Platform on EMFs and Health
The Dutch Knowledge Platform Electromagnetic Fields and Health makes scientific research on health effects of electromagnetic fields accessible to a wide audience in Dutch speaking areas. It is an independent organisation, founded by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
Experts from six Dutch organisations (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), DNV Energy (DNV), the Dutch Association of Regional Public Health Services (GGD GHOR Nederland), the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure (RDI) and the Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development (ZonMw) assess scientific information on its merits and relevance for society.
The Health Council of the Netherlands is involved in an advising capacity. The former mayor of Den Bosch and former member of the Senate of the Dutch Parliament, mr.dr. Ton Rombouts LLM, is chairman of the Knowledge platform EMF. The Knowledge platform organizes the national sounding board on EMFs and Health in order to identify and discuss with NGO’s, industry, science and government the relevant scientific and societal issues.
